Looking for a project is always fun but also can be frustrating. I finally found this old Dodge and fell in love with it. Probably took me 3-4 months to finally pull the trigger and buy the truck.
Found it on this website.
After purchasing the truck I had to figure out how to get it to Canada. So I had it shipped from California to Port Huron, which is about an hours drive away. I figured I could grab a trailer and get in across the border. Well that was harder than I had hoped for. The truck has no title so no way to move it across the border as a full truck.
Love at first sight.
When the truck finally arrived in Port Huron. I crossed the border to check it out. First time seeing it in person and I couldn’t be happier with the condition of the truck. Now the problem will be getting it across the border. The truck has no title and everything I could find told me that I wouldn’t be able to import the truck as a whole truck.
So I came up with the plan to find someone on the US side of the border to disassemble the truck for me and I would only take the parts I wanted back across the border. Just so happens the guy I found also ran a rental company so he was able to load it on a trailer for me as well. Nice!
Crossing the border went really smooth, project truck so all I had to do was pay the duties and away I went. Now the truck or what is left of it is safely tucked away in the shop ready to start a new life.
